Welcome to Bear Lake Lodgings! We’re Joey and Bre, a family rooted in adventure, hospitality, and the love of Alaska’s wild beauty.

Joey has called Alaska home since 2008, after growing up in Minnesota and spending over a decade in Fairbanks. He’s a talented mechanic, pilot, and owner of Seward Air Tours since 2019, where he shares the awe-inspiring landscapes of Alaska from above.

​

Bre’s journey to Alaska began in 2016 when she visited family for a wedding in Seward. Immediately, she was drawn by the state’s rugged charm. Originally from Colorado, she spent years traveling and working seasonally, but Alaska always seemed to pull her back in. Joey and Bre met in Seward in 2018 while Bre was running the office at Adventure 60 North. Although it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, our connection grew, leading Bre to change her plans and move back to Alaska from Australia in 2019.

Our family grew with the addition of Joey’s son, Owen, who now lives with us full-time in Seward. Owen’s favorite pastime is fishing on Bear Lake, often in his boat. 

In 2021, our family expanded further with the addition of our dog, Cessna "Cessi" SkyWaggin'. Cessi is a Brittany Spaniel with lots of spunk and an incredibly sweet demeanor. During the summer, she can usually be found at our airport office, happily greeting guests heading out on flightseeing adventures with Joey.

In 2023, we welcomed our baby girl, Emery, whose arrival has brought even more joy and purpose to our lives. Emery quickly became a wonderful icebreaker at the bed & breakfast, charming guests with her bright smile and curious personality. She especially loves interacting with our guests during breakfast, making each morning feel warm and inviting.

In early 2024, we became the proud owners of Bear Lake Lodgings and dove headfirst into our first season with a newborn in tow. With the invaluable support of family, we navigated the challenges of running a lodge and discovered countless ways to enhance the guest experience. Bre’s extensive background in events and hospitality is now the foundation of our operation, as we continue to make Bear Lake Lodgings a home away from home for all who visit.

We’re passionate about sharing the beauty and tranquility of Bear Lake with our guests, offering a place to relax, recharge, and create lifelong memories. From serene lakeside mornings to restful evenings in one of our cozy rooms, we’ve curated an experience that celebrates everything we love about Alaska.
