Meet the Owners
Bear Lake Lodgings is owned and operated by Dennis and Pat Perry, longtime Alaskans with diverse entrepreneurial interests, careers and experiences.
As a bush pilot, Dennis has seen parts of Alaska that few other people have ever experienced. A 30-year Alaska resident, Dennis believes that the state is unique among the places he’s lived and visited because of its raw beauty and untamed nature. He is a retired psychologist, and now regularly finds time for his favorite Alaskan activities—flying, fishing, hiking, skiing, and all-around adventuring.
Pat is the retired owner of The Original Gourmet Ice Cream Bars, a business that has become iconic on the Alaska fair and festival circuits. She now enjoys her ice cream bars from the sidelines. She also has considerable expertise in home design and decorating, and personally created much of the custom-made objects found throughout the B&B.
Meet the Housekeeper/Manager
Margie
Love of travel is what inspired Margie to become involved with B&Bs. She loves meeting new people and hearing their stories, and sharing her own stories in return. She is an attentive and detailed housekeeper. She is originally from Virginia, where she owned a soul food restaurant. She spent 12 years in the military, and has worked in and managed B&Bs around the East coast. Margie is returning to live, work and manage the lodge for her 6th summer.
Dennis, Pat and Margie are happy to share their local knowledge of Seward and Alaska with you, and help to plan activities and itineraries during your stay. We hope to help make your Alaskan experience unforgettable!
